Backed by more than 35 years of experience in retail management and retail banking, Raul Vasquez has established himself as an accomplished figure in his field. Currently, he is the manager of his real estate investments firm, specializing in rental properties.  VASQUEZ | REI, LLC, was established in 2015. Collaborating closely with a colleague in real estate brokerage, he dedicates himself to buying and selling single-family homes and property management, while wielding expertise in leadership, business planning, and mass affluent and business relationship management.

With a strong work ethic instilled in him by his parents, Mr. Vasquez earned an associate degree from Gavilan College in 1978 and subsequently attended San Jose State University, where he studied business administration with a concentration in management. During this time, he also completed an internship in merchandise management at J.C. Penney Co., eventually leading to a position as the merchandise manager at JCPenney for four years. Afterward, he utilized his retail management background and served as the regional administrative officer at Great Western Bank before being promoted to branch manager, leading two branches successfully—even earning two official Recognitions for Performance by the bank.

In 1993, Mr. Vasquez began a decades-spanning career at Wells Fargo in Los Angeles Metro and Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.  Starting his Wells Fargo career as a branch manager and then advancing to vice president, market area manager, and district manager. By the mid-2000s, he had risen to senior vice president and held additional roles such as community banking president, regional private banking manager, and community banking district manager by the end of his tenure—as well as having built an in-store banking program on the Central Coast of California and executed the expansion of denovo branches in LA and Ventura Counties, during that tenure earning a National Achiever Award at Wells Fargo. He continued to solidify his reputation in the industry when he served as a first vice president and district manager at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from 2012 to 2015— also earning a National Achiever Award for Business Performance. In the midst of opening his own firm, he also remained active as the assistant vice president and director of retail service at LA Financial Credit Union from 2019 to 2024.

Extremely civically active over the course of his career, Mr. Vasquez has been a member of Rotary International. Additionally, he served as a corporate volunteer with St. Francis Center, and served on the boards of Hathaway-Sycamores Child & Family Services, the College of the Canyons Foundation Board, a corporate member with the Valley Industry and Commerce Association. In 2005, he was recognized for “Commitment to the Community” by the California State Assembly. He also previously bolstered his credentials by earning a graduate degree in retail banking management from the University of Virginia in 2006.  Mr. Vasquez completed (as a recipient) Executive Leadership Coaching Program from the management consulting firm, Lee Hecht Harrison. Early in his banking career, while he was with Great Western Bank, he graduated from the “Leadership San Luis Obispo” program.

Today, Mr. Vasquez finds himself at a pivotal point in his life, eager to re-enter the business world and considering opportunities in consulting in the future.

Raul Vasquez serves as a real estate investment specialist at REI LLC

Valencia, Ca. May 10, 2024- Raul Vasquez has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who.  As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individual profiles are selected on the basis of current reference value.  Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Hailing from over four decades of expertise in retail management and retail banking, Mr. Vasquez is a distinguished figure in the realm of consumer, small business and mass affluent banking. Having most recently starting to manage full time his real estate investment LLC, he has carved out a considerable niche in buying and selling single family homes and property management.  His expertise in leadership, strengths based leadership, business planning, mass affluent and business relationship management, and community engagement has positioned him as an authority in his field.  

Upon receiving his AA Degree, from Gavilan College, he attended San Jose State University, where he studied Business Administration, with a concentration in Management.  During that time he did an internship with JCPenney, to study merchandise management.  After leaving San Jose State University, he accepted a position in their Merchandise Management Training Program.  He soon became a Merchandise Manager for the JCPenney, where he managed the buying and retailing of multiple lines of business.  He was in the role for four years. He then was recruited by Great Western Bank as they wanted to capitalize on his Retail Management experience and understanding of how to retail banking products. 

Raul’s first position at Great Western, was a Regional Administrative Officer, in which he was tasked to assess branch managers’ understanding of the changing banking landscape.  A year later, he became a Branch Manager, managing two branches, and then one branch on the Central Coast of California. During that time he achieved company recognition for performance for two different years and was asked to participate in a leadership program called, “Leadership San Luis Obispo”, in which he graduated.  

Prior to his more recent endeavors, Mr. Vasquez served as director of retail services with multi branch oversight at LA Financial Credit Union, in Pasadena, California, from 2019 to 2024.  He previously solidified his reputation in the retail banking sector at JPMorgan Chase & Company, in Los Angeles Metro, where he served as a first vice president and district manager between 2012 and 2015.  He also held significant positions at Wells Fargo in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, including senior vice president community banking district manager from 2009 to 2012, senior vice president and regional private banking manager from 2008 to 2009, senior vice president and community banking president from 2005 to 2008, vice president district manager from 2000 to 2005 and vice president market area manager from 1996 to 2000 where he built the in-store banking program on the Central Coast of California, additionally being identified as one of the first market area managers to integrate the different branch distribution channels.  Mr. Vasquez began his career at Wells Fargo as a branch manager in 1993.

Mr. Vasquez earned a graduate degree in retail banking management from the University of Virginia in 2006.  Additionally, he holds an Associate of Arts from Gavilan College and undertook course work at San Jose State University.  His commitment to continuous improvement is further demonstrated by his completion, as a recipient of executive leadership coaching via Lee Hecht Harrison between 2006-2008.

Mr. Vasquez’s dedication extends beyond his professional endeavors into civic engagement.  He has been actively involved with several organizations, including being recognized by the California State Assembly for “Commitment to Community”, Board Member of Hathaway-Sycamores Child & Family Services, the College of the Canyons as a foundation board member, and corporate member of the Valley Industry and Commerce Association.  His volunteer work with St. Francis Center and the Rotary Club International, further showcases his commitment to community service.  

Mr. Vasquez was also recognized as a national achiever (for business performance) at Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase & Company.  

Finding himself at a pivotal juncture in his career path, Mr. Vasquez aspires to re-enter the realm of business and explore opportunities in consulting in the years to come.
